Address Box Tutorial

Hi! Today a short post with a new tutorial! A long time ago I made an >> ADDRESS BOX <<. I received a lot of nice comments and questions about it so I decided to make a tutorial for you guys! The photo below shows the prototype, made in 2012. I still use it! :D
Hej! Dzisiaj krótki post z tutorialem! Daaawno daaawno temu zrobiłam >> ADRESOWNIK <<. Dostałam sporo miłych komenatarzy i pytań no i w końcu postanowiłam zrobić tutorial! Na dole widać prototyp z 2012 roku. Wciąż go używam! :D
And here, the new address box. Less colorful, more black&white cards. It's a very useful thing I have to admit! You don't have to write all your addresses nicely in one notebook - you just have to write everything on a piece of paper and put in the box!
A niżej, nówka!
Everything is well organised and easy to find. Perfect solution for people who send a lot of packages :)
Wszystko jest fajnie poukładane i można łatwo znaleźć konkretny adres/wizytówkę. Idealne dla osób, które wysyłają sporo paczek :)
Also a good idea when organising a wedding - you won't loose the addresses after the wedding when you have to send "thank you" cards! If you want to make your own box, just click >> HERE << for the tutorial!
Taki adresownik to też dobry pomysł przy organizacji wesela - nie pogubicie adresów gości, którym później trzeba wysłać kartki z podziękowaniami. Jeśli chcecie zrobić sobie takie pudełeczko, to wystarczy kliknąć >> TUTAJ <<!

I started reading the new book by Andrzej Pilipiuk. I heard that this one is the worst part of the series but I really like it! It's nice to read new adventures of the long forgotten protagonists!
On the photo above you probably noticed weird glasses.. they are the Ayurvedic glasses which are supposed to fix my sight - it's getting worse and worse every month.. Someone heard about them? Let me know if you know something about them :)
Na zdjęciu zauważyliście pewnie dziwne okulary.. to okulary ajuwerdyjskie, które mają mi poprawić wzrok. Z miesiąca na miesiąc widzę coraz gorzej.. Ktoś z was słyszał o tych dziurkowanych okularach? Dajcie znać :)

Have a nice day!

Unsatisfying Journal

The latest Craft Challenge at Art Piaskownica I decided to make about notebooks.. I was surprised that I haven't thought about it earlier! I'm obsessed with all kinds of journals and notebooks. Girls from the design team also liked this idea so we started creating.. and what? I made one of the worst journals! Well it's not that it is super ugly or something.. I'm just horrified how I mixed styles and patterns.. and it really didn't came out as I thought it would.. ehh.. just take a look!
The cover is made of thick cardboard covered with a lovely, delicate fabric.
I tried to make a closure by an elastic band but forgot that it will be visible at the back too, so I used a dotty fabric to cover it.. (as you can see these two fabrics don't really match together).
I made rough pages and painted them with brown ink (it looks like red.. but nevermind) and the pages are now too rough and don't match the delicate cover!
I also forgot how to make notebooks with hardcover and I ruined the inside too! :(
This notebook already has a new owner, but I really don't understand why she wanted it!
I hope I won't make similar mistakes in the future.. how could I use so many different patterns and styles in one thing? It's like I have never sewed earlier! Uhh.. I'm really unsatisfied with this journal.. but maybe you have a different opinion about it.. I will be glad to hear it! Even if it will be similar as mine! :)

Keep your fingers crossed for all my tests this week.. it'll be a nightmare!

Have a wonderful weekend,
marysza

Hardcover Natural Leather Journal

About a year ago I bought on a flea market a very soft, beautiful, brown leather. I had no idea what to do with it but I just had to buy it - you can't imagine how soft it is in touch (I could hug it - weird!). Now when we started making notebooks in a traditional bookbinding technique we decided to try to make a special book from this leather.
I am enchanted! It really looks great as a cover, don't you think?
As you can see on the photos we introduced a little new innovation (again!) - the pages are a little bit olden (rough) just a bit but they look much more interesting :)
I could touch and touch this cover all the time!! o.O
It has about 400 pages size A6 as usually :)
Oh I forgot to mention that my A. is the author of this (note)book :) He is way more patient in bookbinding than I am - but what can I say - I'm a patient seamstress! :)

If you love it as much as I do you can find it on my etsy shop here.
Have a nice weekend!

Hardcover Flower Journal

I just remembered that I haven't shown you this journal! It was my second book,
and it came out a lot better than the first one which you saw here.
The fabric is thicker so the glue didn't soak through anywhere - and of course I was more carefull! I'm really happy how it looks - simple, but the flowers recompense the simplicity!
It also has about 400 pages and it's A6 - my favourite size :)
The paper from the inside of the cover is from scrap.com.pl :))
Really nice paper! I love the pattern!
And finally - I'm glad of these photos!

Have a nice day!

Hardcover Purple Journal

Ladies and gentleman! Introducing my A.'s second (note)book!
I think it looks really amazing! It is his second book and it's already very complicated!
Everything is made with great precision! The cover is made of thick purple canvas.
It has about 400 pages size A6  pages are also purple, but have a little different tone.
100% handmade from top to bottom!
(well, we didn't produce the paper ;p but who knows what will be next!)
I hope you like it as much as I do!
I have to ask my boy to make another one like this for me! Haha ;d
This is my last off-school day! What a shame! It was such a wonderful and creative 3 weeks! Tomorrow.. I have 10h at my University.. I whink I'll die there! ;o

I hope your weekend was wonderful! Wish you a lot of energy for the upcoming week!
I have a lot of work at school to the end of February.. so probably I'll won't have time for sewing.. Uh..

P.S. If you are intereted, you can buy it in my etsy shop here!

thank you envelopes & love for stamps

I always attach to my packages mini letters for my clients and swap partners..
Earlier I used simple white envelopes (I made them by myself from a nice pattern) but yesterday I bought a set of 25 recycled envelopes.. and as you can see below, I decided to make little 'thank you' doodles on the front.
Maybe they aren't very beautiful but I am sure it is way more nice
to open an envelope like this rather than a simple white one! :))

Oh and I also tried some of my new rubber stamps! Literally rubber..! As you can see below I made three little stamps from erasers!
It was quite difficult because I don't have a small precise knife..
But still they look quite interesting, don't they?
Ha! And on the last photo above you can see my new treasure! A Date SMASHstamp! It is just great! So many different signs on the left! Great idea, and it was quite cheap! ;d
Yesterday, I also finished another page from Finish This Book! I was doing it 1,5h!
And I interpretated it a bit different than I should.. but it's my laziness fault!
I hope you liked this 'abitdifferentthanusually' post! ;p
Now I'm going to journal a bit with my new lovely stamps  !
Have a nice weekend!

P.S. As always - sorry for bad photos! Sun, where are you?!

F*nish Th*s B**k by Keri Smith

I'm sure every single person who is in the crafty blog world knows Keri Smith and her 'Wreck This Journal'. If you don't know her at all, you should immediately google her! She created few books which can help people open their mind for.. well.. weird journal stuff! I wanted one for a long time now. Her first book is super fun, I know it from my other friends' blogs.. I wanted to buy it but later I thought that I really know what it is about because everyone around has it! I decided to try something new, and ordered a book which I have no idea what is inside it! And the choice was 'Finish This Book'!
I have received it on the day before Christmas and I started working on it as soon as I had some spare time! It is really interesting.. and you have to do it page by page.. you can't skip anything! So it makes me even more curious.. because I can't look on pages which are in the middle of this wonderful book!

Few of the first pages you can see on the photos below.. you for e.g. have to write a sign 'do not disturb..' or try your favourite pen. I know it sound really weird but it is a lot of fun. Fun with your imagination.
One of the pages is blank just to draw/make something new.. I tried to do a little doodle.. about nothing. Just some shapes.. The other page below is a funny task.. you have to make a photo of yourself wearing a disguise cut from this book! I can bet that you didn't see a task like this anywhere else! Haha! ;d
I'm actually stuck on one of the tasks, but I think I will be able to do it tomorrow..
So curious what the next task will be! :)

If you live in the UK or US, you can buy one of Keri Smith's books on Amazon. And people you have to admit you are so lucky with this website! Her books are very cheap there! Here in Poland you have to pay two times more to get it! I got it for the right price thanks to my lovely cousin who lives actually in the UK :)

Thank you Asia again! And I'm very sorry that your luggage was full of my stuff! Haha!
I will be organising a giveaway soon.. I'm closing my shop for few days maybe weeks so I will have some time to make something for you guys! :) Thank you for visiting!
