a patchwork bed cover

About a month ago I started this -neverending- project. I cut the fabric and started sewing. But then I noteiced that I didn't cut enough squares.. so I had to cut more.. 105 squares.. maybe for advanced sever it's not many.. but for me it's really a lot! And a lot of work too!

It covers my bed perfectly (maybe on photos it doesn't look very good but I just can't make any good photos :( As you can see it is for a one person bed :)

The back of the bed cover is white- made of an old stiff sheet from my granny - good it is stiff because it makes it like more resistant!

The worst (the longest) task was to sew through every joint with a double seam. Good I had a double needle - it was my first time with it :) But it made the job a lot more easy!

Do you like it? Are you a patchwork fan? Well, maybe I don't have a lot of patchworks (only 3) but I really admire people who make very difficult quilts.. and I really love to see patchworks everywhere! :)

P.S. I forgot to tell you that I got a tiny suntan today - maybe for you guys it's nothing important but it means that we had sun today! And it was first sun this holidays that I experienced! ;o

new logo and an easy way to keep your stripes tidy!

Few weeks ago I started reading a book about handmade businesses and one of the important things about the appearence was that every shop/blog should have a logo! I liked the idea, and immediately I knew what my logo should have.. a spool with thread, a needle and it should be round! Well, today (at last!) I decided to put myself together and start making it. 

And here is how it looks like!

 I made a white and a black version. And I really like it! I'm glad it looks like I imagined it! Now question for you guys: Do you think it fits me and my blog? Do you like this simple form of a logo?

And now the second thing I wanted to write about today :) Something about my mess. Tyll today morning I had a big mess in my ribbons, tapes and leather stripes. I have to admit I hated having a mess there, because I never knew what I really had there o.O

So I decided to change it today.. I had no idea how, because I don't have any wooden spools etc. But suddenly I reminded myself that I have a lot of  wooden clips! I started to wrap every string on a wooden clip and here is how my mess looks right now!

 I love it! Stripes which I used the most often are on the top of the vintage metal tin, and the rest of the wooden clips with ribbons etc. are inside. It doesn't look messy at all! Yay! Simple way of making your mess a bit less messy! Maybe some of you will share this idea :)

 Oh and something about htreads - I have a lot of colorful thread but I don't really use them so they are always hidden in a plastic box. But I also have a little metal tin with threads which I use all the time:

It isn't anything special but It doesn't look bad.. But below.. on the image below you can see something what I'm dreaming about! A beautiful vintage hanger for a lot of threads! Beautiful and super organised - perfect!

Maybe I will find it some day at a flea market :)

P.S. On Sunday we came back from Międzyzdroje.. It was fun and romantic but the weather was awful! But more about it later, I'm planning to make a post about it :)

tiny notebook

Remember my last candy? The one where the winner was the 200 watcher of my blog? Well here is what the winner received from me! :)

It is a very small notebook - A7 size with a big initial letter of the new owner's name :)

It's not very thick but still it has olden pages.

And a wood grain pattern as you can see :)

Oh and here is the wood grain notebook with a little free gift for one of my clients :)

I hope Kasia enjoys it! And that I made it quite for her taste! :D

Cupcake Corner Bakery vol. 2

 Last weekend I visited my favourite place in Crakow two times.. You seriously can't imagine, how much pleasure I have from every visit in the Cupcake Corner Company. After my last visit, I made a short post about it, but the photos were just awful. I tried to make them better this time, to show you the beautiues of their products.

I didn't make any photos inside the bakery because we were in a hurry.. but when we had a minute I had to stop and eat one of them.. The fisrt one was the Chocolate Covered Strawberry - I ate it for the first time.. and of course I loved it!

I bought 5 cupcakes, but 4 were for the trip, so we had to wait to eat them.. I was so worried that I will destroy them during the ride! But fortunately they were ok when we came to our room in Zakopane :)

 They are too bautiful. Seriously! My hear was falling apart when we were eating them! Haha! Below you can see my favourite cupcake - Carrot Cake. I love the taste, and that it hasn't got as much cream as the other cupcakes have (I'm not really a cream lover).

 This one was Vanilla Confetti - also delicious! But too much cream for me! But look how it looks! Colorful confetti on white cream! Beautiful!

 Here you can se my boy's favourite one - Peanut Butter Cup.

 And here is the queen of the party! Spider Man Red Velvet Cupcake! It is a special cupcake, it costs more but it is worth it! The taste of the red cake is delicious! And I love the colour of the cream!

If some of you are going to visit Crakow, and it is your first time.. don't forget to visit this magical bakery! It's a perfect spot for a quick break during your trip. And here is their address (two bakerys in one town!):

When we were going home after our weekend trip, I also came to the Cupcake Corner Bakery and bought a bunch of cupcakes for my family.. I even didn't have time to make photos! They ate them immediately!

Hey y'all! Kaelah here from Little Chief Honeybee and run a little shoppe called Hive+Honey! The lovely Marysza asked me to blog sit while she was out and about so I thought I'd take the chance to share with you some of the things I'm looking forward to this Autumn! Wherever you are in the world, simply know that here in Nashville, Tennessee it's a daily battle of 100 degree temps, 95% humidity, and way too many mosquitos! The only thing getting me through it: my endless stash of popsicles, airconditioning, and knowing that Autumn isn't too terribly far away! Heat is far from my favorite thing so let's get on with things that are a lot more enjoyable!

001. Hot coffee! I can't wait to enjoy hot lattes and coffee drinks once more! Maybe outside on the patio engaging in friendly conversation with someone whose company I truly adore.

002. Tights and scarves! I tend to be a very modest dresser so once I can work tights back into my daily outfit routine then I think I'll be much happier! And scarves, too! Bundled up and chic! 

003. Motorcycle Jackets! They instantly give edge to anything you wear them with. My dainty dresses could use a little spunk! 

004. Bonfires! Bright light, warm heat, smores and the people I love most! Sounds like the perfect night!

005. Autumn Leaves! Crunching through the bright oranges and yellows... autumn is my favorite season of the year! 

006. Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago! I'm packing up my Xterra with my fiance and our friend Elle for the 10 hour drive to Chicago to see my best friend Susannah and to go to Renegade in September! I can't wait. It's going to be lots of fun!

P.S. Today morning we came back from the Woodstock festival - brilliant again! And also today I'm going with my A. ;* by train at the seaside to Międzyzdroje.. wish me a good weather and a nice suntan! :d

P.S.2. I was bored with my hair so I died a small stripe at the back of my head.. it was supposed to be blue, but actually it looks more like grey? Well, when I will get back I will do it again and hopefully it will be 'lagoon blue'!

weekend trip

Last weekend was my A.'s first days of holidays so we decided to visit Zakopane, just for 3 days :) We had our transport from Cracow.. we were so happy when we arrived there! The weather was wonderful! Sun, blue sky and it was warm! But.. when we arrived in Zakopane.. only 110km from Cracow.. the weather was awful.. It was raining all the time.. every day.. we had maybe 1 dry hour.. Fogs were horrible.. and they didn't even disappeare for a moment!

 Here we are riding down from a small hill called Gubałówka. We loved the chairlift! But the view wasn't as we wanted it to be..

Look down, here is a photo I found in the internet showing the view from the place we were.. But instead this beautiful view..

We saw this.. It really wasn't satisfactory! And it was so cold!

 Even though the weather was awful and we didn't visit a lot of natural atractions there.. we were happy because we were there together! It might sound stupid.. but it's true :) It was the only reason we had a good time!

 When we were walking back to Zakopane from this chairlift we found few poppys! These flowers are really beautiful..

 Look it's the beginning of August and I'm dressed like it was October! ;o I hate it!  I want to wear dresses and comfortable t-shirts! But neverming..

On Sunday morning we went to the bus station to check our buses.. and we found a wonderful sculpture which was built for all the men who fought for our freedom during the Second World War.. It is a really beautiful.. patriotic and it took our breath away..

SHORT: It was a very nice trip except the weather which didn't let us visit every attraction we wanted to see. But we had a really good time just walking around Krupówki together.. :) We will come back there for sure some day!

P.S. Oh and I bought a beautiful flowery (and enormous) bag! :D

small bag & woodstock 2011

A while ago my mom asked me to make her a flowery, small bag because she doesn't have a bag for summer.. only black ones. She picked the fabrics (I just mentioned that canvas is good for bags). And here it is (soooorrrrryyy for bad photos)!

It is quite stiff - I have added a lot of stiffener to fabrics.

And the shape looks quite nice - you have to believe in my word one again - bad photos don't show it good.

Two magnetic snaps.

And a zipper for closure.

It's small, but as you can see it has place for a thick book, a vanity bag, a wallet and few other important stuff :)

The interior is flowery like the flap.

And there is a special place for keys.. which usually dissappeare in a woman's bag!

As you can see it has a quite short handle - just like my mom wanted it :)
